In the studio…
Caitlin lives and works in the Chelsea neighborhood of New York City, where a typical day might include dreaming up a whimsical wallpaper, painting a giant giraffe, or researching vintage jewelry sketches for inspiration. She starts the day at her clean white desk, but usually ends up sitting on the floor surrounded by a haphazard pastiche of paints and brushes.
Previously…
Caitlin worked as a textile designer for Ralph Lauren Home before striking out on her own in 2011.
Inspiration…
Walks in New York that lead to finding quirky furniture shops and hole-in-the-wall bakeries provide endless inspiration. Caitlin loves browsing the aisles at Pearl Paint, and revels in purchasing a new paint color as much as new shoes. She carries her little red notebook at all times so she can jot down what she sees, from bolts of bright block printed fabrics to rows of brilliantly colored rain boots.
