Have one for me!

Today I was going to do an illustration of a King Cake and say Happy Fat Tuesday! But then I realized that it is in fact Ash Wednesday, and I missed it. So instead I must go get some ashes and think about sins and atonement and what I’m giving up for lent instead of thinking about delicious cakes with plastic babies. Although…do I really need to give anything up? I mean hello, I can’t drink alcohol or too much coffee since I’m pregnant, so I think that is quite enough restriction for right now!

The good news is that it’s Valentine’s Day tomorrow, and I have NOT given up candy this year (I have in years past=misery). I used to like going out on Valentine’s Day when I was single, because you pretty much knew that everyone else was single too. So- will you single girls get out there tomorrow and have a few cocktails for me? I will be watching dvr’ed Top Chef and hopefully eating chocolate from a Duane Reade heart shaped box, living vicariously through you.

    You are too funny! You are pregnant so that should be enough! Eat lots of chocolates and sweets…God knows you deserve it! If I were you, I would head for, my favorite place, Ladurée…and indulge to my hearts content!!!

    I’m giving up desserts and it is hard which I guess is the point. It was either that or wine and I think I like that just a wee bit more. I’m not sure what that says about me though….

    Ha! That’s exactly what I hope to do along with the hubby and my 9month old daughter ;) Except I’m hoping for a See’s candies box of chocolates ;) Happy Valentine’s Day!

    I agree. You WERE in misery when you used to give up candy for lent. And agreed – nights on on VDay with the girls were pretty awesome back in the day. Happy early V-Day!
